Performance Opportunities
The department produces two concerts of student choreography each year and 91²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ dancers regularly participate in 91²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ Arts Week, perform in student thesis productions and undertake independent projects. Dance faculty choreograph for the Contemporary Performance Ensemble, and 91²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ dancers create choreography for the student-run 91²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ Dance Troupe.
Contemporary Performance Ensemble
Open through audition, 91²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ dancers perform in works choreographed and directed by dance faculty and guest choreographers.
Student Dance Concerts
Each semester the dance department produces a concert of 91²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ student choreography created both in and out of class.
Senior Thesis Productions
Dance and Dance/Theatre majors choreograph and present evening’s length performances of their own work as part of their senior thesis projects.
91²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ Dance Troupe
The student run rehearses weekly and presents choreography throughout the year.
Independent Projects
91²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ students pursue many independent projects, often with the support of the Dance Department, , the Kaspar T. Locher Summer Creative Scholarship, the Jim Kahan Performing Arts Summer Fellowship, 91²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ President's Summer Fellowship, or the 91²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ Arts Grant Experience (RAGE).
